I lay Molly Rose on her back this morning for some wiggle time. When I came back five minutes later from the kitchen, she had jiggled her way diagonally to the opposite end of the carpet. I think she was looking for the door.

This morning at 7:00 a.m., beside Mummy and Daddy’s bed: Jamie: I see baby? Mummy: Sure, Jamie. Come onto the bed and say hi to Molly. Jamie: Hiiiiiyeeeeeee babiiiiieeeeeeee! Molly: (Big smiles) Tess: I want to see Molly too. Jamie: No, Tess! I say hi to baby. Molly: (Smiling hopefully at both her siblings) Tess: [...]
Super coos and man-sized burps

Molly Rose is at the coo-ing stage, and I can’t get enough of it. The moment you step into her line of vision, she starts to smile and sing. Her coos are sweet and delicate, just like her. Her burps, however, are another matter entirely. You can hear her burps from across the other side [...]

So, I needed 15 minutes of peace and quiet this evening in order to google the nearest garages that run fuel emission tests. Molly was hiccoughing beside me, asking to be jiggled and nursed and generally Mollified. With a sinking feeling, I realized this fifteen minute job would easily extend itself into a 30-45 minute [...]

Last night, Molly discovered the baby in the mirror while she was taking her tubby. She was surprised, then delighted by her new friend, especially when this friend smiled right back at her. There were lots of coos, and excited, spastic waving. When Molly discovered Mummy in the mirror, she practically went beserk. An abundance [...]

She did, this morning. Mike missed the big event by seconds. She looked fine afterwards, he said. Just a little surprised. Since “surprised” is Molly’s default expression, it’s hard to tell how she felt about the event or if she even noticed. At her 2 month appointment this week, the doctor asked if she was [...]

Molly’s got one of them! Cloth diapering a baby is a breeze, and so cute too. No?
Another thing I love about babies…

You can pretty much do anything to a baby – plop a pair of moose ears on them, have them “talk” about poop in a Churchill-like voice, or bop them around in a ludicrous baby dance – and they’ll have that same, accepting look on their faces as when you burp them, nurse them, or [...]
