I came home from church after a long day, and lay down on the floor to ease my aching back, staring up at the ceiling. A small serious face suddenly appeared inches above mine, then vanished as quickly as it had come.
I closed my eyes, then felt small hands nudging my arm up. I looked down, and there were Kitty, Pink Bear and Strawberry Shortcake, nestled in the crook of my arm. Meanwhile, Molly was fussing with a blanket, tucking it under my feet, stretching it up to my chest, patting it smooth. When she was finally satisfied, she leaned over and gave me a big, smacking smooch on the cheek, then smoothed the side of my face with the back of her hand.
Not a word was said the entire time.
Oh, I am a big, gooey marshmallow of fuzz-wuzzy feelings. That’s what I am!
Beautiful
Lovely.
